Artist #5 - Emily Higley

Hello! I'm Emily Higley, and this was my first year joining Crafts Unlimited! I create rustic string art and wood burned signs created from locally-sourced reclaimed wood and barnwood. I love creating handmade, one -of-a-kind pieces for others to enjoy. I've been crafting for as long as I can remember - I got the crafting bug from my Mom, and fellow Crafts Unlimited artist, Laurie Johnson.

I live with my husband Jacob and teach preschool. When I'm not nailing, stringing, or woodburning, you can find me: enjoying the outdoors, photographing anything/everywhere, sipping tea, rooting for my beloved WSU Cougars, and spending time with my family and friends.

You can find my string-art, and other rustic goodies at the following shows, and online at LottieElizabethEtsy.

Artist #47 - Kathy Eaton

Hi, My name is Kathy Eaton. This is my second year with Crafts Unlimited.  I am really blessed to be a part of this show.  I live in Troutdale Oregon with my husband of 43 years.  I enjoy using vintage items and re-purpose them into amazing things to share.  For the show I make handbags from vintage 33-1/2 record album covers. I also turn vintage books into journaling books.  I turn the smaller vintage books into address books.  This year my new items are a variety of serving trays.

I have participated in numerous bazaars over the years including 10 years at the Expo holiday bazaar. My husband and I decided 2 years ago to leave the Expo and do smaller handcrafted bazaars for the warmer atmosphere.

I teach at a private school in Troutdale and have been there for 33 years. My favorite things are crafting, painting, sewing, kayaking, campking, yard work, and traveling.  I have 2 children and love spending time with my six grandchildren.

Artist #37 - Phil Silver

Local children's book author, Phil Silver, will have his book "Andi the Bee" available for purchase at our show, and will gladly personalize a copy for you.  His new book, "Tales of Couver Forest" may also be available for the show, if they arrive from the printer in time.

Both books are gentle tales of three forest animals, Boga Bear, Skola Squirrel, and Bunko Bunny. The stories are designed for children six to ten years old, depending on reading ability, but can also be used as bedtime stories for younger non-readers. The universal messages in these stories will resonate with young readers, as well as adults, making them enjoyable for all ages.

It's never too early to think about a Hanukkah gift, Christmas stocking stuffer, or a Kwanzaa zawadi.

Artist #25 - Laurie Johnson

Hi! My name is Laurie Johnson, and I have been with Crafts Unlimited since 2004. I design primitive crafts; raggedy dolls, snowmen, Santas, framed samplers, burlap banners and pillows, penguin gourds, and upcycled wool mittens. You'll find me at several local bazaars throughout November, but Crafts Unlimited is far and above the best!

This year I am excited to have my daughter, Emily, joining our show! She and I enjoy crafting together, and have an Etsy site called Lottie Elizabeth (link below).

I have been designing and selling my craft patterns and finished items on my website since 2003. You may have seen some of my patterns in Country Sampler and Create and Decorate magazines. Besides my primitive designs, I also like to quilt, garden, collect antiques, and spend time with my family. My husband and I have five grown kids, live on a farm, and raise sheep and cattle. Hope to see you at the show!

Primitive blessings,
~Laurie
